A Legacy Reimagined. In 1960, Chevrolet entered three Corvettes in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, numbered 1, 2, and 3. Meet 0, the Corvette that never was and is now. History remembers those cars, but our story begins with the one that never existed - until now. Project Zero is VOLT+STEEL’s vision of the Corvette that could have been: a machine that honors the golden age of American endurance racing while pushing the boundaries of hot-rodding into the electric era.
From Fuel to Flux. Automotive Racing and Hot rodding has always been about using every available technology to go faster and push harder. We're seeing this spirit show up in today's racing with the juxtaposition of technology - mixing Electric with ICE. In 1960, the Cunningham race team shocked the world winning Le Mans in the legendary #3 C1 Corvette. In 1961, Chevrolet shocked the again world by introducing fuel injection on its small-block V8, jumping horsepower from it’s 283 cu in 283 hp to 360 hp from it’s 327 overnight, passing the “1 in = 1 hp” mantra. Project Zero channels that same spirit - but instead of adding carburetors or cubic inches, it adds more electricity - almost 200 kW (268HP) more than the Corvette’s early beginnings. Under the hood is a reVolt Systems electric motor delivering 450 kW (600HP) and a jaw-dropping 900 lb-ft of torque directly to the C1 driveline - all instantly on tap. This is not a compromise. It’s the next evolution of performance.
Crafted With Purpose. Project Zero is VOLT+STEEL’s first EV build, crafted with best-in-class off-the-shelf EV systems, custom harnesses, and a relentless focus on both authenticity and innovation.
Embracing Heritage. Project Zero isn’t just an electric swap. It’s a statement. A tribute to the pioneers of American motorsport and a challenge to the next generation of builders: embrace the heritage, but never stop breaking molds. Just like the racers of the 1960s, this Corvette proves that the future of hot rodding is limitless - and electric.
